Power Supply 8 Volts DC
Output Signal 0 to 5 Volts
Connections
A power +8V Red
B signal   Blue
C common   Black
Mounting Arrangement

The resistance type temperature detector is designed to screw into an engine block / gear box / differential housing or cooling system. The matching calibration network plugs between the sensor and the wiring loom to convert the resistance of the sensor to a voltage proportional to the measured temperature.

Calibration Test

Use the Test Sensor function of MSELog to show the temperature, which should match the ambient temperature if the vehicle has not been operated for some time. Removing the plug from the sensor will cause the indicated temperature to read about 19 degrees celcius.

Logger Configuration

After selecting a temperature related point name, select Bosch 0280130026 from the sensor name list. It is recommended to configure the point for zero decimal places and one sample per second.

Air Temperature
Range -15 to 90 degrees celcius

Power Supply 8 Volts DC
Output Signal 0 to 5 Volts
Connections
A power +8V Red
B signal   Blue
C common   Black

Sensor : Red and Black with either polarity

Mounting Arrangement

The resistance type temperature detector is designed to screw into an intake manifold etc.

Removing the plug from the sensor will cause the indicated temperature to read about -15 degrees celcius.

Logger Configuration

After selecting a temperature related point name, select DELCO Air Temp from the sensor name list. It is recommended to configure the point for zero decimal places and one sample per second.

Thermocouple Amplifier
Range
0 to 800 deg C
0 to 1480 deg F
0 to 1200 deg F

Power Supply 8 Volts DC
Output Signal 0 to 5 Volts
Temperature limits 20 to 60 deg Celcius
Connections
A power +8V Red
B signal   Blue
C common   Black
Mounting Arrangement

The amplifier should be mounted in a location away from excessive heat and moisture using the adhesive Velcro strip supplied. A type K thermocouple plugs into the 2 pin yellow connector. The three pin connector plugs into an analog input connector on the wiring loom. This amplifier can be used with grounded or non-grounded thermocouples.

Calibration Test

Use the Test Sensor function of MSELog to show the temperature, which should match the ambient temperature if the vehicle has not been operated for some time. Removing the plug from the sensor will cause the indicated temperature to read about 805 deg C, 1480 deg F or 1210 deg F depending on the amplifier range. The 800 deg C and 1480 def F ranges use the same amplifier. Some calibration errors exist for temperatures below 100 deg C / 200 deg F due to the non-linearity of the thermocouple. These temperatures are below the lower limit that thermocouples should be used.

Logger Configuration

After selecting a temperature related point name, select Type K 800 deg C, Type K 1200 deg F or Type K 1480 deg F from the sensor name list. It is recommended to configure the point for zero decimal places with a sample rate to suit the application.

Manifold Air Pressure (MAP)
Range 0 to 3 bar absolute

Power Supply 8 Volts DC
Output Signal 0 to 5 Volts
Connections
A power +8V Red
B signal   Blue
C common   Black
Mounting Arrangement

The sensor attaches to a clean flat surface with the velcro adhesive strip supplied. It connects to the source to be measured via a 2mm ID flexible tube. It connects to an analog input on the loom. It should be mounted away from excessive heat in a dry location.

Calibration Test

Use the Test Sensor function of MSELog to the pressure. With no pressure signal applied the ouput of the sensor should match atmospheric pressure at the time (which is normally 1 bar). The pressure varies with atmospheric conditions as detailed in daily weather reports. Applying a vacuum will cause the readng to decrease below 1 bar. A pressure will cause the reading to increase above 1 bar.

Logger Configuration

After selecting a pressure related point name, select the MSE 2.5bar MAP sensor from the sensor name list. It is recommended to configure the point for one or two decimal places with a sample selected to suit the application.

Fluid Pressure
Range
0 to 2 bar
0 to 30 psi
0 to 75 psi
0 to 100 psi
0 to 250 psi

Power Supply 8 Volts DC
Output Signal 0 to 5 Volts
Connections
A power +8V Red
B signal   Blue
C common   Black

Sensor : Red and Black with either polarity

Mounting Arrangement

The sensor screws into the pressure source to be measured. It connects to the loom via a calibration network which converts the resistance of the sensor to a vlotage proportional to the measrued pressure. The same calibration netwrok is used for all ranges.

Calibration Test

Use the Test Sensor function of MSELog to the pressure. The pressure displayed should match the pressure applied to the sensor input. Disconnecting the sensor will cause the indicated pressure to read full scale or above. Pressure reading may be in error by 3 to 5 % of the full scale reading. If better accuracies are required then load cell type sensors should be used.

Logger Configuration

After selecting a pressure related point name, select the correct sensor from the sensor name list, which will be one of the following :

  • VDO 360.723 (2 bar)
  • VDO 360.723 (30 psi)
  • VDO 360.720 (75 psi)
  • VDO 360.721 (100 psi)
  • VDO 360.722 (250 psi)

It is recommended to configure the point for zero decimal places with a sample selected to suit the application.
